I'm a tailrace rat, have been for the last 20 years.  It's the variety of fish and variety of fishing styles one can do in just a 2 mile area.

Uh gee, I think Sakakawea. But I do love to fish Tobin, Garrison Tailrace, and Truman Res in Mo. Lake Darling can be a blast as well. I love to pitch jigs or vertical jig. Most days at Van Hook it's hard to beat live bait riggin' with a half crawler.

Spend most of my time fishing Darling/Grano locally, but my favorite is LOW.  Me and friends make the trip once a year in the fall.

I'd sure like to be able to get out to some bigger water, but with working in the patch so much, I don't have alot of time to fish.  Most fishing I get done is an occasional day on the Little Missouri.

Sometimes I aim to please, but mostly I just shoot to kill !

Sakakawea westside up to the New Town area, and second only because its a bit farther away would be Mobridge.

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?

I've tried the lil missouri a few times mid summer while in medora and havn't caught crap.  the water just seems too muddy.  What baits/lures have you used and what kind of fish have you caught?  is there another part of that river that is clearer?

For bait  I've used some freezer burned deer venison, beef liver, or night crawlers. Caught lots of nice catfish and junk shiners off the liver, venison and worms.   This summer I caught a few nice sauger off of night crawlers and spoons.   I cross the river every day so I can see how clear it is at times. Can catch the cats still  when its muddy.  I mainly fish it in Bowman County, and at the VVV crossing towards Golva.
