Wounded Warrior Bow Hunt Bismarck/Mandan area

This has nothing to do with the 'wounded warrior project' but i'd like to take a disabled/wounded vet out to get a nice buck. Anyhow, I have a 4x4 patterned that is right around pope and young (he's probably 120" or so). It will be a ground blind hunt and within 10 miles of the Bismarck/Mandan area.

Sorry for the short notice but I'm looking for a hunter opening day. I'd like to have the hunter in the blind by 5pm on Friday Aug. 30th. The deer typically show around 8pm. This is not a baited hunt. Level of disability doesn't matter. From a completely healed vet to one stuck in a chair, if this hunt would make you/them happy, send me a P.M.!

Again, wheel chair accesable if needed I think but we'd have to do a transfer into a blind chair.

The shot will be from 5-35 yards.

If there are no takers, I'll open the offer to another group of people I have in mind.

 Great offer!
Man wish I could Remember the name of the young man I just helped with his bow at the Bismarck range this week. He was 19 I believe, was in Afghanistan and woke up 4 days later in a Germany hospital, casualty of a roadside bomb.
I bet he'd take you up on it! Had just bought a used Mathews Z7.

I live pretty close to a wounded vet. Ill have him get in contact with you. Other options, show up at the veterans stand down on Thursday morning at the amvets and find your candidate. Either way, good on you for doing this.

I would definately accept this offer if I didnt have a stand camera and everything set up. I will get you a contact that will get you your wounded warrior. Email me at ian.c.placek.mil@mail.mil ... or you can just visit Military Ovation on Facebook and send her a message. It's a local, non-profit organization that helps out wounded vets. And thank you very much for doing this. Definately means a lot that someone would do something like this.

I know a couple of guys that have started the Wounded Warrior Project of North Dakota, they are not affiliated with the Nation Wounded Warrior project, they are all on their own, and they have been doing some very great things with what they have, if this is something you are interested in helping with or possibly just getting a list of some guys that may be good candidates for your hunts I could get you some contact information from them. jsthntn, this is an absolutely outstanding thing you are doing its outdoorsmen like you that I look up to, thank you for what you are doing! let me know anything I can do to help.

It went well but no deer was taken. A smaller 4x4 came in, and i told him to shoot if he liked the animal. Unfortunately it was a 40 yard shot. The deer ranged further than expected, as the wind was TERRIBLE for the blind.

We hunted anyhow as i knew they'd still come in somewhat.

Up and down the shot was perfect but it was about 5" too far forward. The buck spun quick enough to only lose a few hairs. My guy was a bit disappointed but i assured him he'd get another shot.......that very night. Well a smaller 3x3 came by and he immediately drew back and released. The arrow wizzed high and left again, zipping inches from the bucks head. My guys reaction was priceless and I flat out lost it. He laughed with me for a while but then got a bit annoyed as to how hard i was STILL laughing.......... I told him he'd get another chance though......that night.

Well, nothing came by for a while and he was ready to go, so we exited the blind. BAM, there stood the target deer staring straight at us at 40 yards. He drew back as the buck walked towards us, down to 30 yards. He wanted to shoot but i didnt let him take the straight-on shot. Pretty sure that pissed him off. lol

anyhow, i'll get him out again with a better wind and get him that 20 yard or less shot he's looking for.
