Good job of leaving a young buck to grow up. Too bad you educated him to look up at trees. And put down your damn cell phone and hunt! LOL

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." -Edmund Burke

"The time at which I stand before you is full of interest. The eyes of all nations are fixed on our Republic. The event of the existing crisis will be decisive in the opinion of mankind of the practicability of our federal system of government. Great is the stake placed in our hands; great is the responsibility which must rest upon the people of the United States. Let us realize the importance of the attitude in which we stand before the world. Let us exercise forbearance and firmness. Let us extricate our country from the dangers which surround it and learn wisdom from the lessons they inculcate."

I was only about 10ft up,this spot is about 1/4 mile from any crop land  or a hay fields.Public land so no bait-feed-pile.IMO hunting the trails in between the feeding and bedings areas is easier, the deer are not as jumpy as they are near food sources??It was a foggy and wet walk to my stand that morning!!

That 4x4 in four wheel drive, yep let the 4x4's walk, and its not easy thing to do.But maybe the right thing to do is when a deer comes by giving you a broadside ,standing shot at very close range, you should take the shot??Instead o taking a poor shot at a bigger deer??nothing like putting a arrow all the way thu a deer at close range, puts a big smile on my faceShould have taken the shot

What did i do before cell phones????Used a land line??Good for you dont have one,i wish i didnt have one, they are a big rip off!!But with the job i have,i have to have one and i get a phone allowance,Things change in a hurry in theoilfield a phone can save alot of time and keep you out of places and roads you dont want to be.Plus the company i work for all the drivers will let the other drivers know of any bad road conditions, accidents that have just happen, what the locations are like at the wells, litle things to look out for roads you sholdnt take, etc, etcIf iam going to a well site i have not been to before i will text or call someone who has and ask about it.This is very good in the winter to.

That's a great video.  Hope I get to see something like that in person tomorrow morning.  Thanks for sharing.  Hilarious to see the deer go from perfectly relaxed, to somewhat suspicious, to HOLY CRAP! in about 30 seconds.

If you have a lot of deer in that caliber on your land, I would've held off as well.  If I see that deer tomorrow, I'm having backstraps for dinner.
Just a nice red river cat.
