What a mess. Why gut it in your garage, when you can leave the guts in the field?

Maybe it was cold out.

The worst one I ever did was minus 30 wind chill. The meat between the ribs was frozen before I got done.

its much cleaner to skin a deer without gutting them. for the two inside loins that you sacrafice by not gutting the deer ill let them go. leave the guts inside the ribcage and when your done skinning and quarting get rid of the ribs like normal except with the guts no hair all over and no blood everywhere.

Either that deer had an extremely thin hide, that knife was sharp as hell, or some combination of the two.  I know all the deer I shoot don't skin nearly that easy and my knife is always sharp enough to shave with at its dullest.

it wasa  fresh deer for sure, warm deer skin out a hell of a lot better than one that rides around in a pickup box for a while.

That is pretty amazing to watch. That deer looked to be about the size of our larger coyotes up here though

Cleaner? Didn't you notice that blood bath once he skinned her down to the wound? Not to mention,  now you have to haul away a pile of guts. Seems to me there would be alot more hair the way he did it, seeing as he made about 4 more cuts than are necessary to skin a deer.

Yeah, but you could still tell that was a southern deer. The hides are apparently thinner than northern deer.

Maybe he wanted to go fast since he cut the stomach open when gutting it?

That deer was extremely limber too. If possible, I would rather gut at home than field dressing. But that is outside, at the farm not in a nice clean garage. Maybe he has a floor drain he likes clogging up?

You can't aim a duck to death.

That's how they do it down south.  It took him a whole 20 seconds to gut the deer.  They can't let the deer hang in the south because of the wamer weather. So they take care of everything right away and throw the meat in a cooler.  Hide is thinner and alot less fat too! Real easy to skin the deer when it is warm.

Speeking of no tag.  Turn up the speakers and listen to the old guy commenting in the background saying that you have to learn how to skin a deer like that with all the illegal deer they shoot every year.  Pretty messed up.

A lot of states down south don't have tags.  Just daily limits!  You can only shoot one or two bucks per day.  Imagine that!  I believe most of the outlaws down there do alot of fire hunting though.

Would have been more impressive if he had said hold my beer and watch this.   And done it without needing a stitch or two.
