Re:3 1/2 year old deer. don't care what anyone say's that deer is young. |
|
Re:I think he older. He was the same sized 5 last year on the side that wasn't broken and he had a huge mature body last year. I had him at seventeen yards and was able to look him over well. He struck me as a big heavy bodied mature deer then. He was with a good 4 x4 last year and the 4x4 was scared to get close to him. |

Re:Well i guess i cant really argue with you since you have seen him in person. i'm just going of the picture, his face just look's young to me. |

Re:Hey Bdog, nice deer you have there. I think he is an older deer as well. 4.5 or better judging by the shoulders, belly, and the neck "waddle" or flap of skin in front of the brisket. For my herd, I would put him on the "take" list as I believe he should have more of a rack for his age. Besides, I don't really care for g2's that are shorter than g3's. That is just a personal preference. Nice pics, keep'em coming. I'm bored down here. It's also summer here, yuck! |

Re:Hey kdm, He does need to be culled out of the gene pool. I also think he is a bit under horned. I also like taller g2s. We will see if we can take him next year. Hope you make it home soon. I read -25 on the truck taking a ride around this morning. Bdog |

Re:-25 with snow sounds great to me right now. If you do take him next year, a nice closer would be to put a weight on him. He looks like a whopper in the body size department. If you passed on this one, what did you decide on if you don't mind tellin? My buck is posted as "09 tracking team". Not a huge one, but the kids got a kick out of it. |

Re:Hi kdm, To be honest with you he came into the stand in October 08 with a snapped rack. He came into the stand with a good 4 x 4 . He only had about 1 inch on one side of his rack. The other side was a nice 5. He had the biggest body I have ever seen on a whitetail. The other big buck that I have posted pics of also snapped one side of his rack about the same time. I can only guess that they were fighting each other and both bucks lost a horn. I decided to take him when he came into the stand with the 4 x 4. I just missed the shot. It was a easy bow shot, I just missed. . I got pics of him late in the rut that year he looked like he had lost a lot of weight and lost a eye. That was the last time I saw him until hed just showned up again 13 months later? But anyway I missed him in 08. I will try to get him 2010. Anytime you want to come and hunt my place you are welcome. |

Re:Hey Bdog, thanks for the offer to hunt. I might take you up on that. I'll send a PM. Would be fun to check out the blind you sent pics of. I bet it's quite a view. Same for you. Your welcome anytime in my blinds. My wife and I just bought a house s of VC so I should be around next year, Lord willing. Check out the PM. |
