At least we've have had a decent winter so far.  It's about time they made that decision, hopefully they enforce it.

Ya I don't know why they ever let anyone start camping there in the first place. Seems like it would be a pretty big liability.

About time they did something. When you drive by there when it was nice out it was like a party out there people had lawn chairs and where grilling and drinkin beer, hell sometimes it looks like a vehicle repair shop. One time I seen a guy using his spare tire as a jack stand. when it was dark and cold it had a quiet purr of generators. I understand people need a place to stay but having no water and sewer is a little rediculus.

Good for Wal-Mart!  Very happy to hear this.  I am amazed they were tolerant for as long as they were.  I have heard MANY people comment about how bad it was and that they were avoiding going there because of it.  Plus, how irritating it was to go to use their bathroom facility there, only to find that it was FILTHY from people obviously cleaning up in there.  You've got people shaving and taking sponge baths, etc. and not cleaning up very well after themselves.  It was only a matter of time before "enough is enough".

I feel bad for those that have no place to stay, but you can't expect to become a "squatter" and also expect people to be accepting of it.  It's a business, not another local campground/RV park.

I was in Williston Wal-mart and there were 2 guys in different stalls doing the sponge bath   Williston PD said it is private property so they can not do anything
unless Wal-Mart wants it done  but the PD patrols it are they over and above the law on private property where they can come on anytime they want.
Minot PD says they do the same thing....IF a bar posted their property would that cut down on people getting picked up for being intoxicated and sleeping in the vehicle

The PD drive through the Blind Duck and The Landing lots of   times after 6 PM hunting for victims who made a mistake and don't ned the 10,000 expense (TV ad) that comes along with drinking and sleeping

I will definately bring in more business when you dont have to go through the carnival of southerners to pickup a bag of dog food and pack of tampons.
My wife wont go to the Dickinson store alone, not close to as bad as the williston one and she still felt uncomfortable.

I say good for them, however now these campers will just invade some other parking lot, or side streets.

Evicted?  That makes it sound like they had a right to be there in the first place, or as if they were paying rent to Walmart?

I kept (and keep) hoping we'd get like a 24 inch snow out there....could you imagine trying to move snow around Walmart and other areas, and trying to live out of a tent/ lean-to or vehicle?

The lines are horrendous.  Even Minot is bad (not as bad as Williston in my experience).  I just avoid going there if I can.  I often shop at smaller stores and deal with the higher prices.  Why drive an hour to Wal-Mart only to stand in line for 30 minutes or more?  I despise going there.  Whenever I'm in Williston or Minot, I want to shut my cell phone off so my wife doesn't call me with a "shopping list for Wal-Mart".  At Christmas we actually did our shopping on-line... that was the sweetest thing ever!!!  If I could grocery shop that way, I would do it!  It saved me time, miles, money, and we got everything we wanted.  :o)
