wait till you read the fine print.  the williams county funds alone were a joke.  they were only available if you had a certain percentage to match.  which most of these counties don't have.  he's just trying to save his ass for the election.  these guys are a day late and a dollar short all the time.  until I actually see the roads built and the infrastructure put in place I don't believe a word they say.  they claim to have spent 119 million this past year.  I'd like to see where it's at.  if you take the work on highway 85 from williston to watford out of there, there wasn't much more than ordinary road construction done all summer.  and the super2 as they call it, wasn't that pricey in the overall scope of things.  and it was a waste to do all that and not four lane it anyway.  The state highway dept. is an epic failure.

eyexer: are you aware that the NDDOT doesn't have the money (half a billion) to do a 4 lane? Only the legislature can provide them with the money... And by the way, the super 2 is designed so it can be reconfigured into a 4 lane similar to the one on ND 1804 south of Bismarck. A big wide divided 4 lane like US 2 won't work in many areas on US 85 due to R/W and environmental constraints. Bypass routes around  towns along 85 are already being studied...

119 million isn't anything eyexer.  Could spend that on a handful of dinky county jobs.

Everyone thinks money is the answer.  It is only part of the answer.  Throwing money without proper planning, etc is probably worse than anything.
