It's really kind of sad isn't it!!

I guess I hit submit too soon, and should have added - "The way it used to be to now."

I'm young enough that we did get a brand new Atari console for Christmas one year when I was really young, but I don't think me or my sister put over 10hrs on the thing total.  I thought it was a POS, and mind you this was high tech stuff back then.  I have never own a game console/system since.  There was just too many thing to do outside whether it was summer or winter.  Now days you have to just about pay kids to play outside, but then again we enable them and their habits I guess.

Damn right lawn darts are cool!  Last time we played was down in Sibley park, as the light got lower and we got more drunk it became increasingly dangerous.  Finally had to put them away when a guy got hit in the leg.

I hit my cousin in the head with a lawn dart from about 30 yards. He went into the trees and said I bet you can't hit me. He came walking out with a dazed look, with the dart sticking out of his noggin. He was 14. I was about 10. He beat the hell out of me. Never went to the hospital. He went inside and took a shower to get rid of the blood and screamed when he used shampoo. Good times.

How about riding on the fender of the tractor? I remember doing that at about 5. Later on, I remember learning to drive the tractor with dad standing on the draw bar at about 8.

When we were unloading our grains into the auger, we would lay on the PTO shaft cover and wait for it to grab. It would twirl us a few times and spit us out. Good times! If my kid did that I would kill them.
