I am in the market for some new Carbon Arrows and I am wondering what you have found to be the best brand. I have PSE brand right now and they are really fast but they are a little light and they seem to be very inconsistant. Anyone found any great arrows they love? I shoot a PSE split limb at around 65 lbs draw weight.

I also wanted to add that I was looking at getting some Beman arrows but I heard that they are inconsistant. Anyone found any truth to that?

I shoot gold tips and they've worked great for me, i've had two break on me and the first one broke from a mule deer snapping it off with it's front shoulder. Made a heck of a snapping sound. Also had a whitetail bust one off while running through the trees. In my opinion they are one of the best arrows. I shot beman's for awhile too. They worked great but didn't seem quite as consistent or as strong as the gold tips i shoot now.

I was shooting the high grade carbon express's $(90-100) a dozen but am going to switch to Maximas for next year. I show 20 fps faster with these. Haven't tried them out for grouping yet though. 3d shooting season is hear now, so I will give that a try.

I've got Carbon Express Terminator Hunter Select 4560's and haven't had a bit of problems with them. They group as well as I can shoot them. Never chronographed them, so I don't know what kind of speed I'm getting on them. I've only shot one deer with them, a small doe. I got a complete pass-through so I couldn't tell you about breaking one off that way. Only shattered one arrow practicing, and that's when I missed my Block and hit what I was using to prop it up.

I use Beeman carbons and they seem to work fine. I would say most carbons will work fine

I tried a couple of different carbon arrows and can't find one that will group for me. I still have the best luck with aluminum XX75's. Why would this be? An aluminum group will be around 4-5 inches at 20, 30, and 40 yards. Carbons will only get a group around a foot? Any help???

I switched to Beeman's last year. Used to shoot Cabella's. There's a big difference. Groups tightened up considerably.

Red E try using a heavier spined carbon arrow. What is your poundage? Too light of an arrow will not shoot well out of a heavy poundage bow. Also you may want to re paper tune your bow. Just some suggestions. I shoot carbon force radial X weave with feathers pushing slick trick 100 grs. Shoots 303FPS and deadly out to 80 yards. My 2 cents.

I'm not really sure that I would trust papabear with his response to this topic. He missed the last deer he shot at this year and then blamed NDGF for not giving him enuf time to bow hunt.(Whitetail bowhunting over, his topic)
There is more to shooting accurately than just the arrow. Make sure the arrow is cut to the right length, feathers or vanes and with certain bows, the total weight of the arrow and broadhead/field tip can make a world of difference. Go to a proshop and have someone look at your setup and go from there. I had been shooting Carbon Express Cx 300 at 28.5 inches, received a few pointers and had evrything looked over and ended up shooting CX 200 at 27.5 inches and that made a world of difference. Then practice, practice practice! Good luck

belldar,

Thanks for the suggestions! Amazing how I can cut off the fletching when target shooting broadheads from the tight groups. Maybe "don't fix it if it ain't broke"? Appreciate the advice and might tinker in the off season.

I really like Gold Tip 5575's this is what has worked best for me. You may also want to consider the type of vanes you are using and what works best with your current rest.

Good luck

I have been using Easton Carbon Excels. Good price and very accurate with fixed blade broadheads (the most difficult to shoot accurately). Used gold tip 5575s for a while, but the eastons are almost half the price with the same accuracy. Too many problems are blamed on arrows that are not spined properly for the bow. Nothing can replace acute tuning of your setup to ensure proper arrow flight.

Cant go wrong with Gold Tips target or hunting. Shot them for 5 years and havent had any probblems with the qualtiy. They are very strong. The only thing I have had a problem with is the camo Gold Tips really stick in the buffalo board type targets. Now I shoot the plain black carbons for target practice. You can go online and get raw shafts for a pretty good price.
