Im starting to think about what to bring along for the big deer hunt in November.  I'll be hunting the badlands as far away from the roads as I can get and was wondering what you guys take along? Any info is much appreciated!!!

Knife, gallon zip lock, two gallon zip lock, garbage bags, two bottles of water, some wipes for the binoculars and spotting scope, knife sharpener, camera stand, tripod for binoculars, a few energy bars (granola, power bars), some paper towels for field dressing and bathroom duties, license, extra rifle shells, some matches, rangefinder, GPS and maybe even a compass come with me.

Might need a little more water too but if it is cold and you take your time on your walks (breaks and rest) not as much water is needed.

Several 3gal ziplocks, TP in a ziplock, wet wipes, windproof lighter, waterproof matches, trioxane for starting a fire, small compass with a mirror, water and neutralizer tablets, collapsable waterbottle, 2-3 granola bars, 2-3 bottles of water, skinning knife, boning knife, small diamond sharpener, spotter, tripod, camera, flashlight/headlamp, some rope, a pair of wool fingerless gloves w/mitten fold-over, UA cold gear facemask.

I don't/won't use garbage bags for meat.  The chemical applied to them to make them photo-degradeable is bad for meat.  I do have a garbage bag or two in my pack while in coyote country just in case.

I take heavy duty garbage bags for the hide.  Or use the extra big zip locks.  I guess I have all sorts of zip lock sizes in my pack (just went and checked).  But yeah, meat doesn't go in garbage bags.

Forgot about the headlamp, extra batteries.  Also carry a face mask and extra socks sometimes.  Don't do the tablets but should just for the heck of it.  Could throw in my otis gun cleaning kit too.  Those things are awesome compact and have just about everything a guy needs.

Also carry map and plat book if I am going to need to be skirting around public and private.  But with NDTrax and the homemade maps I have now the paper maps often times stay in the pickup now.

Most years when I don't need snowshoes to get around I use a camelbak water system and a small pack, about a 900 cu. in butt pack.
Binos are on my chest with a harness and range finder in the left coat pocket.
A travel pack of baby wipes in the right coat pocket.
Usually 20 rounds in addition to the loaded rifle.
Extras: Two extra pair socks, t-shirt, hat, and pair of gloves.
Spotting scope, I have a shooting stick monopod with a rifle rest top that I can rest my spotter in also so no tripod.
I have a head lamp, Knife, sharpener, and sagen saw.
A roll of electrical tape and a small m-16 style cleaning kit with enough rod to clear any barrel obstructions, in case the electrical tape fails me.
Granola bars and a few candybars.  I also carry and extra liter of water.
I like to eat a warm lunch so I plan for half day adventures.

I also have some rope, a flash light with extra batteries, and a lens cloth.
I also have eye drops, aleve, mole skin, and panty hose...  What....  I case I get a hot spot on my heel I put those on so the socks slide easier.
Good Topic, I see a few things I need to add and possibily carry the big pack all the time.

That reminds me.  I need to get new rope put in my pack!

And yep, depending on weather some layer clothing may find its way in the pack.  Probably should get enough rod to clear barrels.  Or just put some of that blue tape in my back pack.

Wool/Windstopper 1/4 zip is by far the handiest and most versatile layering garment I own.

laser bore sighter in case my reflexes fail and I have to recheck the zero. Check the zero at 25 feet mark the target and IF the rifle takes a good bump you can check it out in about 2 minutes

I carry lots of the above items, but also rubber gloves. It makes gutting or boning an animal alot less messy.

I forgot one important thing, chap stick, wind blown dried out lips makes for a long day.  I do carry a garbage bag too, just for protecting my pack from blood that may leak through the game bags.  Also medical tape and mole skin for any cuts and blisters.

Obviously.  What if I miss one, twice or three times.  Need new tape.  Or maybe I see a mountain lion, then a coyote, then miss a buck.  You see, a need for new tape.

Heck, actually there as been times I wish I had some electrician tape.  Out in Wyoming for one.  Had a roll in my pack to attach Shane's tag to the antelope!

If ya guys know a utilility worker ask if he can get ya some "Mule tape" for rope in your pack. It is very strong 100 feet can roll up into nothing. Last year I used a 300 foot roll to pull a gutted Bull uphill 200 feet to a road with it.
