I was going to go out and do some coyote hunting, I am from around the fargo area and was wondering if anybody knows what coyotes are worth this year? I always hear about guys getting decent money for them yet the local fur buyer only offers $5, is he trying to take advantage of me?

They're worth as many bullets as it takes to render them dead.

This moment is a paradox, it's the oldest you've ever been as well as the youngest you'll ever be.

If they are not rubbed, properly skinned fleshed sowen stretched washed and brushed they will bring 25. so 5 bucks is about right.  I am sure he would have an opening for skinning, fleshing washing sowing and brushing for 20 bucks a coyote.

I'd be happy with $30-$35 on the carcass, anybody know  of a place around Fargo paying that much? Any advice on where to take them would be great.

Fur prices always seem to get exaggerated when one person either inflates what they got or talks about the one coyote they got $xx for and they don't talk about the average of all their coyotes.

The prices I have heard about and have actually received a check for are around a $20 average in the carcass.  There were some $30 coyotes sprinkled in there too but there were also some $5 and $10 coyotes. When you talk to a fur buyer, make sure to ask them what an average coyote or type of species will bring and this will help dictate where to go. Fur quality, bullet damage, and also color (they don't want the red coy-dogs) all go into the final price. I haven't taken any locally around Fargo up to this point but will let you know if I do.

we've been paying 20 on average with highs of 30 for the very best dogs on carcass.  size, bullet holes, blood,  and color are all what we base our buying on and the biggest, whitest yotes will bring the most.  we're basing everything off of where markets left off last year and prices may change depending on how furs are sold this year.  We've had a lot of problems with rotten animals this year as coyotes need to be cooled quickly after they're dead and it's hard to do that in 40 degree weather. I'm in Valley City alot of the time so that isn't too far of a stretch from fargo.  www.browtineskullsandfur.vpweb.com
