Welcome to the New Site! Couple things: Have you migrated? Any suggestions?

I know it isn't a very exciting switch over since everyone was pretty much aware this was going to take place but it sure is nice to finally be plugging away on the new and improved FishingBuddy.COM and for that matter, the Total Outdoor Network.

Let me be the first to officially say welcome...and thanks!  It is the members that allow us the opportunity to continue trying to develop a website for the Upper Midwest Outdoorsmen and women out there.  Hopefully, we will go beyond the boundaries of the Midwest.  Time will tell but we are excited!

With that said, I hope everyone took a second to read this forum.  For those signing into the website for the first time you will encounter a migration prompt.  This migration is necessary because it pulls over all of your old posts, photos and more from the old website (or does its best to pull them all over).  If you haven't migrated your account yet or may have had another account that had most of your old posts, photos, etc please contact me at tsandstrom@fishingbuddy.com and I will help you along with any issues.

Second, we want to hear your feedback.  We are still working on other features as I type but we are always open to changes, additions or deletions to the current system.  This new site allows us to build features with relative ease.  This is one of the sole reasons for developing the site that we did.  We hope it becomes more than just the run of the mill talk forum website that seems to saturate the Internet.  Remember, it is the viewer that is important to us so any comments will be more than welcomed.

Third, I hope you all have had time to check out the new talk forum engine.  It is pretty straight forward but one feature I hope you all utilize is the little red flag icon ( )located at the top of each post or reply.  This icon is for the members to help me and others moderate the site.  Simply flagging a report, post or photo will get our attention and we'll act accordingly.  Please use it wisely.  With your help we can curb some of the complaints I have received in the past regarding content and certain posts.  With the old system it was difficult to be timely on catching such posts but now we can be on the ball...especially if you are helping in the process.

With that said, I look very much forward to the future and interacting with members of the Total Outdoor Network and especially FishingBuddy.COM.  We hope you enjoy the new site and definitely look forward to adding new features to accommodate any new requests you may have.

A big thank you to all of you for your patience and input.

Best Regards,

Tim Sandstrom

i love the new site Tim.  I still cant set the number of topics that show though. I have it set at 40 ,under preferences ,then clicked submit. Still only show 20. As far as other suggestions.....Maybe send the calander girls out to meet everyone and welcome them to the website..   In alphabeticle order of course.  :)

It is not working correctly with FireFox.  The comment box seems to be not showing most of the time. I am using IE right now and it is fine.

Tim, the new site is great! The only thing I would like to see is each persons number of posts!  I just really like that feature... Thanks, and great job!

My profile used to say Nov 2002(accurate).  Now it's an '09 date.  What's the deal?

Tried to edit myself on "How True", was able to add a semi colon but not able to add "OBJ" to "ive".  Also, when I click "Home", that's where I want to go.

This site is about fishing and hunting reports.  Keep it that way or die like "Sports Afield".  The other BS is just a side dish.

Could the 30min edit function for the poster be a button up near the quote/reply/flag buttons?  Just a little cleaner IMO.

I agree. Kind of nice to see how active someone is on the site or if it's their first comment. I guess it kind of makes a user a little more credible in a sense.
The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. Then why do I hunt? I hunt for the same reason my well-fed cat hunts...because I must, because it is in the blood, because I am the decendent of a thousand generations of hunters. I hunt because I am a hunter.- Finn Aagard
