Website problem?

When I'm on FBO the back and forward buttons sometimes do not work. Like when I bring up the top topics and click on the first one then try to go back nothing happens. I can click it several times and sometimes it will take me back, and sometimes not. Anyone else having this problem? Any fix for it? Sure is a pain.

Also - are you using the "back" button in your webbrowser? - Is it Internet Explorer?

Thanks,

Eric

I have had this issue as well, when I click the back history (the downward arrow next to the back/forward buttons on IE) it shows http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/page, this is all the back history shows. Sometimes it shows only 1 or 2 instances of this sometimes it shows upto 5.

The problem can occur when you try to click the back button when all the ads are still loading. They can also be the cause of the security warnings depending on how the ads are constructed. There are so many different ad locations on the page it would be difficult to narrow down which ones are causing all the issues.

I use 2 different computers for browsing and am not seeing this problem. I am running the latest versions of Chrome and FireFox. However both computers are getting a message about a toolbar not being set. Only on this site.

I would try tabbed browsing.  Get in a habit of right clicking and then left click on open link in new tab. I dont use the back button very often.

You could also check your internet options and adjust your cookies settings. Maybe delete cookies when closing firefox or Internet Explorer. ( its an option in Firefox)

Eric,

It does it with any page, photo page, top discussions, fishing reports, etc.

Yes, using the back button in IE.

Only seems to happen on this site though.

Not sure if this issue is related, but I am experiencing some real slow site speed time right now when loading the home page as well as other pages. Using IE8.

I use the site more than anybody and personally haven't seen these issues.  But with that said, please folks, be patient and help us resolve the issue.  Eric is working on it as he can.  It is growing pains of proprietary software instead of the canned web blog programs out there today.  In the end, we'll be much better off.  Regardless, I understand your frustration and we ARE working on the issues.

Quite honestly, these weren't obvious to us and having just now identified a problem helps us resolve them.

Thank you.

I did get it to happen to me one time. It seemed like it happened when the ads loaded slower than normal.  If you had the mouse over the back button it showed google ads as the next back.

If you click back a few times, you eventually went to the previous page.
