Pretty big bird for being a Jake?  Plus a full fan?
I would have to say that maybe he was a tom with Beard Mites? Or on the cross over between the 2 stages. Concrats!!!
Get ready for SD,WY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought of that!  He was probably more so in the crossover stage.  I used the tail feathers to make a real fan for my B-Mobile decoy and he had 18 tail feathers which is typical of a gobbler and not a jake which usually has 16 I believe.  I shot him because he was the biggest of the three body size and beard.  Either way, it was awesome.  And now his fan will hopefully bring me many big gobblers!!  My wife is back Wed from Chicago so hopefully we can get her one.  And then, it's off to SD & WY!!

"When we step into the outdoors, we have the privilege of standing in the presence of God through the power and majesty of His creation. That makes hunting more than a sport or a hobby. It's a calling to something greater. And that transforms the places that we stand into something more than a cropfield or a pasture or a mountain. It makes that place Hallowed Ground."
