Kind of a lose/lose situation!!!!!

"When we step into the outdoors, we have the privilege of standing in the presence of God through the power and majesty of His creation. That makes hunting more than a sport or a hobby. It's a calling to something greater. And that transforms the places that we stand into something more than a cropfield or a pasture or a mountain. It makes that place Hallowed Ground."

Anyone has to be better than him in left field. I would consider him one of the most shaky outfielders in the entire major leagues right now. He cant read a ball to save his life! Probably a very good trade for the twins

I think him and Manny Ramirez could rival each other out in left.  Both look pathetic in the field.  At the plate though, it's a different story.

Yes he was very shaky.  Too bad they traded Matt Garza and Jason Bartlett to get him.  They could use a shortstop and starting pitcher.

DELMON was a pile of sh#T, why not get rid of him, he screwed the twins into so many first pitch outs at big times, heck with him glad hes gone.

It was time to end the Young expierement...it grew old.  Pun very much intended even though a reverse pun.

I am suprised they traded to the Tigers though.  Probably got decent value in a way or something because the Tigers are in a hunt and need some help.  Although...um help?

Not a fan of Young.  Never was.  Ben Revere I am a fan of.

I know the twins had multiple outfielders but I don't like this move at all.... they trade away a 25 year old kid that hit .298 last year with 21 hrs for a pitcher that can barely keep his era under 5.00 in the minors and a player to be named later? Delmon has had a rough go of it this year with injuries and has never been really strong in the field but I think he was just coming into his own at the plate.... unless the player to be named later is verlander haha I think the twins get burned by this move

twitch,

I hear ya but dang we put up with a lot so far with him.  Last year I thought it was all worth it but I just don't see that "magic" in him.  Maybe he will go on tear for other teams.  I remember the Ortiz move years ago but I don't know what to think.

There must be something else as it does seem a bit rash to all of a sudden do this trade.  We'll be watching this for the next three years wondering if it was good or bad.

TBD

i think young needed to go... but, if a guy wants to look at the entire package of this young experiment... twins give up garza and bartlett to get young, brendan harris and some no name pitcher.  then today they give up young to get cole nelson and john doe.

since we traded harris with hardy last fall for another couple of no name pitchers and some cash.... i am pretty sure that means the twins have given up garza, bartlett, young and harris for cole nelson and john doe...   does anyone remember the last time the twins made a trade where we came out on top?

No, they are good at young talent but they stink at good trades.  I'd have to dig to figure any out.

Hicks must be really impressing the Twins and will be ready for next year.  I don't know.  What I don't like is the interleague trade.  That does bug me.

I'm mixed on this one...

I too am surprised in trading within the division...Happens a fair amount though...I don't know much about the Twins but know Delmon Young was a dangerous hitter at times and made me nervous when at the plate....You always hate to give up young talent but from what I remember, the pitching staff isn't all too great either......Must be looking to next year and the player to be named later.....

Span
Kubel
Revere
Cuddyer
Young

Too many mediocre OF's, someone had to go, although Kubel and Cuddyer are free agents at the end of the year and I don't think it's a good idea to have Span and Revere both be everyday outfielders since they both hit like second basemen.  Would have been nice to get a little more for Young but realistically his value was pretty low; nobody was going to give up a high level prospect for him.

Delmon goes yard in his first swing as a Tiger vs. Twins. Twins GM Smith is an Idiot. Can the Twins trade him? Did not like this trade at all in the first place.

Don't forget hicks. I would like cuddyer to return to the outfield. I don't know. Rough year for twins.
