Trying to decide on new truck tires for my F150. I have it narrowed down to either Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor or Yokohama Geolander A/T-S. What are peoples thoughts?

Just got a set of Silent Armors to replace the worthless Toyo Open Country's that came on my new truck and were terrible after just 29,000 miles.  Had Silent Armors on my prior vehicle and loved them.  What I found nice was that when ice fishing it seems all tires work great when they're new.  But once they're about half worn they become worthless.  The Silent Armors didn't.  They held their traction even after being half worn down.  Can't say I know a thing about the Yoko's.

I had the Yokohamas on my truck, they worked great in snow and in mud. The only draw back was stopping on icy roads.

I love my Dick Cepeks, they are a little bit louder on concrete but not too noticeable but really grip whether its ice, mud, whatever.  They run a little more money than most tires, but should last longer also when I read reviews.  The tipping point on me getting them is a coworker had 60,000 miles on the Cepeks he had on his F-250 and had a fair amount of tread left.

We have over sixty pickups in our fleet and we run mostly Silent Armors. We run Duratracs on the irrigation and heavier work trucks. I have Duratracs on my personal pickup. They're about fifty bucks cheaper each than the Silent Armors.

Worst tires ever. Got talked into them and they sucked.  Had a flat first week and were shot in about 30k miles, squirly on highway too.

Getting new BFgoodrich AT/KO  tomorrow, got 60k miles on last set. pull 38 foot 5th wheel every weekend of summer too.

Nitto Terra Mud terrains are the best I have had to date.  The BF KO's that come standard on the tundra rock warrior are alright but the Nitto's were better in my opinion.  Haven't tried the silent armor or duratracs.

x2 for the silent armors! had em for 2 years now on a toyota Fj and the tread is still awesome, these tires cut thru snow like nothing and the traction on an icy highway is superb, ok in the mud and great for just about any situation.  Hardly any noise on the highway great tire imo.

Wow i couldnt imagine getting 60k out of a set of tires.  I couldnt even imagine getting 40k,  but then again 85% of my driving is gravel and i get pretty much exactly 20-25k out of each set of tires i buy.  Doesnt matter if Goodyear, nitto, bfg, hercules,  the gravel just kills em.  Sucks to spend a grand every ten months for tires.

One Big Ass Mistake America !

25k out of 6ply??  If you're on gravel then don' t use passenger tires.  Go with the 6 ply truck tires, or even up to 10-ply if you're running the 3/4-ton models.

Dick Cepeks are awsome!  I had them on an 07 dodge that was lifted and it was unstoppable!  Tire life was amazing.  I now have a Tacoma and also drive a lot of gravel so wanted good tires that would last.  I was looking at the BF's but got talked into the General Grabber AT2.  I purchased them in a 10 ply so they would hold up longer.  I was worried a little about the ride but not too bad and love the tires and way less then the BF's!

Silent Armour gets my vote.  I have 38,500 miles on mine and I'm not even close to thinking about replacements.  About 95% highway miles though, not much gravel.

I loved mine.  Great grip.  Great on the highway.  Super in snow/ice and mud.  I thought they performed better then the 2 sets of BFG's that I had.  Certainly better then the
TOYO crap I replaced them with.

Can't give you a definative answer but what comes to mind is they are quieter, hence the "silent", and they're suppose to have kevlar I believe in the sidewalls, hence the "armour".

What kind of pricing have you guys found on the Silent Armour's - assuming truck tire sizes to be relatively similar in price?
