Was  wondering when tributary streams could be effectively fished around the Fargo area. IS there a certain water temp or indicator a guy could use to know if its worth fishing?

75% of them won't be good for consistent action for at least another week or so. Now, you could probably find a mouth/feeder creek right now that would have the best crack at getting some fish, but you'd have to concentrate on the main river. The farther away the tributary is from the main river, the more it will be covered with ice.

Dams will also be heating up soon. Any kind of water treatment type structure/flood control system should also have a better chance of being fishable. Hope this helps.

And the water temps are going to vary so much depending on what tributary, and what day you're fishing. The best indicator is going to be trial and error. I like to concentrate more on the tribs once the water levels stop rising. A day or 2 after they level off and maybe start to go down, the current will also slow down a tish, making it easier for your lure, jig, or whatever to stay in the strike zone. good GOD I hope it's soon, I am itching to set the hook.............what's that seasonal anxiety disorder? SAD?? I'm pretty sure I have it.

Thanx for the help Josh.  I also am experiencing  some cabin fever.  Time to get the long poles out.
