I see this was quite some time ago you posted this.
Sorry there hasn't been any replies.
I am no expert trapper, just trying to teach myself how to trap coyotes in the last 4-5 years.
Just a week ago or so when it was warm my boots were sinking into wet gravel pretty good, so on a warm day you might be lucky enough to bed in a leghold, but hammering in a stake might be a different story.  Plus you probably would have wanted to collect some dirt earlier in the fall so you have some dry dirt to work with at your sets.
Maybe you know someone with a live trap or conibear trap.
Live trapping raccoons is worthwhile if you need to get them out of an area.  Use some buttered bread and sprinkle sugar on it.  Or break a few eggs in the back of the trap.
Snares might be another good choice, they are cheap and easy enough to try if you know of some trails.
Best of luck.

trust me, even now you could still be out catching 'yotes if you have good dry dirt but I would have to totally agree with 78 on everything he posted. You also could try throwing some of them legholds in some muskrat feeder huts. that's wat I'm doing right as I'm typing this. Skinned AND stretched some buyers will pay per inch of stretched skins
