Trail Cam Question????

Hi guys, just want to ask you guys that have ran cameras in the past and what has worked for ya.  I recently picked up a moultrie d55ir and I have a few questions...First when placing out a feeder, attractants, etc. how far do you usually place it from the camera and how far are you able to place it and still capture images clearly?  For what I have read most are effective only to about 50 feet...
Also, how much should you place out there and how spread out should it be?  I only live 10 minutes away and it is easily accessible so I am able to check it fairly regularily without disrupting game.
Last, I have the setting of 3 multi shot mode and it is set with only a 1 minute delay...would this be the best setting for capturing the most images?  Just would like any input and advice that has worked for any of you guys.  Love the camera and enjoy a new aspect of seeing deer movement and what is around the property.
Thanks for all your help!

I set my camera to a 30 second delay and if I set anything out for the deer it's usually between 10 and 20 feet out, have never used the 3 shot burst, I get TONS of pictures with the 30 second delay.
The wheel is spinning..but the hamster is dead.

I have this camera and i have mine set at a 2 shot with a ten minute delay. I have been getting a lot of pictures and it doesnt suck up the battery very quickly. I like the two picture setting because i can pick between two pics of a buck for the best angle or have both to accurately score and view a buck.

i have it about 10 yards away from the feeder i have set up

Thanks, seems like my options if I remember correctly are 1, 5, 10, 30, and 60 minute delays on pics.  Would definitely set it sooner if I had the option.

Looks like we have the same camera Feasant_Hunter...it takes great pictures and seems to be fairly good for battery life.  What have you been putting out for an attractant?

Strongly reccomend an external battery. They are well worth the money when it gets cold outside.

If your looking to see whats out there, set it for 1 shot with the minute delay.  If you know you have a nice buck around and want to get alot of pictures of him set it for the 3 shot.

I set my for the 3 shot and I like it that way.  There is a nice pause between pics and you have the opportunity to see more with more pictures.
