Timber rattler?

What do we have here?southeast Mn bluff country,darn big if in fact its a timber rattler.

Any guess's?

 The rare and nearly unknown southern MN zebra snake.  You can tell by the stripes.

I think I see a rattle on it though, although a snake is a snake and should be killed immediately when encountered!

You are all wrong, it's a Sniger. A cross between a snake and a tiger. It's pretty much my favorite animal.

Yes that is a timber rattle snake.  They do get big, real big second only to the eastern diamondback.  they are native to that area, though they are becoming very rare in the US because nearly every one that is spotted by a human is killed.

I dont go around guessing cup sizes either I just know a nice rack when I see one.

WOW!!  Who found it first and needed new undies?????  It sure looks like a timber rattler.  Multi-species would probably know for sure.

I don't know, but IMO I'll bet that Multi-species can and will let us know what type of snake this is..................

Thanx multi,figured you would know,the locals tell me they are good eats but are protected today,this one was found before it could slide under the floor tarp,one of many this year in the camp grounds do to high water in the area.
