This has been around for awhile, but I like his way of thinking~

Put this guy in charge.......... No kidding, this guy has more

smarts than all the people running this country put together !!!!!!!

This was in the Waco Tribune Herald in Waco , TX on 11/18/10

Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away.  If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations.  Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, nicotine and document all tattoos and piercings.  If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and piercings, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing.  Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair.  Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried.  If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job.  It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you.  We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good."

Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary.  If you want our money, accept our rules.  Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices.  The current system rewards them for continuing to make mistakes and bad choices.

Alfred W. Evans, Gatesville , TX

AND while you are on Government subsistence, you no longer can VOTE!  Yes, that is correct.  For you to vote would be a conflict of interest.  You will voluntarily remove yourself from the voting rolls while you are receiving a Government welfare check.

If you want to vote - get a job.

I saw a guy buy case of pop at convenience store with a govt food card.  He came in and asked if they accepted food cards and when they said "Yes" he was very happy.  Ridiculous.

I saw a sign in a gas station next to the Red Bull.  It said:  "We will accept food stamps/card for Red Bull.  What a great way to spend gov. aid, on a $2.50 can of 8.3oz sugar and caffeine.  I know families that are not on gov aid that make 2 meals for that price.  We have a problem folks.

Some people that get assistance have real reasons, medical, or maybe the wife of a fallen soldier, or the single father who still has a job but needs help.

I like your way of thinking but there are circumstances.

In that case we should be able to use all land since farmers recieve federal money as well right????

Fishmhn will not respond so don't hold your breath. He is paid by the liberal left to combat anything a conservative says. There is no arguement for him here.

Sure welfare is a good thing. For people who are down on their luck for whatever reason but not to be abused.

In Bismarck, they have the guts to beg while leaning on a "help wanted" sign and people still give them money.     Welfare should be a very rare thing in ND right now.

thats what he is saying, welfare is sometimes needed. however here is what you would get with it. When my check book is low I dont buy steak, nor should someone getting a hand out.

buckmaster,
You pull me out as an advocate of welfare?? I think the present system is in complete disarray and needs to be totally reworked including the people administrating it in many cases. I've been an advocate of no welfare for "garbage in the diet for years. I believe in helping people that have made an honest effort to survive but are still having problems not those that are totally inactive at checking in with the world.. If they make no attempt on their own I have little or no compassion for them. Long ago someone sent me a post that set up the scenario of stopping to a help a stranded motorist(welfarite) stuck in the ditch that wouldn't help in freeing his own vehicle. The person said he felt like kicking him in the a$$. I mentioned If the same person had been digging for an hour, hooked up the rope, attached it to both vehicles, the rope broke and hit him I probably would "Not kick" this person in his a$$ and would do my best to help him again. You're assumption buckmaster, of my personality and beliefs appear to be a little out of focus.

Btw I am not proud of that at all, but times are hard

Or they are listening to their I-Pod while begging.

My dad is a contractor, he does a lot of work on goverment housing.  Most houses have direct tv, gaming systems, and several flat screen tvs.

Also most people in them have pets and don't care what the pets do to the house because it isn't their house.  The amount of damage done to the houses is amazing.

Put me in charge of government housing.  Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair.  Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried.  If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.
