The North Dakota Game and Fish Department and Burleigh County Park Board have closed Kimball Bottoms boat ramp (the “Desert”) effective immediately due to deteriorating ramp conditions. The ramp will be closed indefinitely.

Kimball Bottoms is eight miles south of Bismarck on Highway 1804, then two miles south.

We were just up at Misty Waters yesterday.  What a mess!!  The entire public ramp is cover in probably 5-10 feet of sand.  That's probably why the owner of the marina there is allowing boaters to put in there.

It will probably be late spring at best for some of these ramps to be open and working again. Possibly later.  The river is dropping like crazy and the channel has moved in some places.
