Does anyone have any luck catching walleyes at sweet briar ?? How is access to the ice ?

went out today from 9 to 5 got 3 perch talked to others same south west side very slow

went out today from 8 to 4 only got 4 perch 1 northern on the south west side very slow

went out 9.00am to 4.00pm today caught 13 perch 9.5 to 11.5 inch. bit was slow havent been out for about 2 weeks. maybe the weather. all other times caught between the two of us 150 fish a day.will try again next week after the weather straightens out.

Hunter, I'm not sure if the south entrance is open but i seen quite a few fresh tracks on the ice today so people are getting around. Just make sure you have a shovel because you never know.

I agree with you bigbuck. We were out there on a seven foot flat by the west boat ramp. caught one perch(11in) before sun up on a swedish pimple and minnowhead. Thought it was gonna be a good day...not!

fished today on of the west boat ramp. absolutely hammered the perch 10-14 inch average. bite was best from 2-5 pm. thanks again for letting me use your auger. if you remember where me and my buddies were on saturday that's where they were biting. 7-8 feet of water. get back to me

My buddies and I went out again yesterday and today, spots we fished seem to be doing really well. Yesterday we came off the ice with 5 Walleye, 4 Pike, and about 21 Perch. Today we went out and caught 24 Perch, 2 Pike, and 8 Walleyes. Seems to have a good bite in the later afternoon early evening. Missed a really nice Walleye, came to the bottom of the hole after it tangled up 3 of our other lines and finally broke the line... oh the one that got away...

Well, a buddy and I had real good luck a couple days ago catching probably around 50 perch in the morning, most being in the 8 - 9 inch range with a couple around 10". Got a couple pike also and a dink walleye. Bite pretty much shut off around noon though. Decided to take the kids with today and have some fun but the bite was pretty much nonexistant. Got one 6" walleye and 8" perch jigging but bobbers/minnows did nothing. Both days fished in around 7 fow.

We had only two bite in 6 hours. Alot of people out though. All in all nice day to be out. minnows,wax worms and smelt. 8 to 12 feet of water. |
