yes sir!! I know it's not the biggest but it surprised the stuff outa me and was quiet fun. Had caught another one just an inch smaller than that one and had another one bout the same size maybe a bit bigger get off at the boat. Great fun

Went out to day and fished for about 8 hours. 8 LONG hours. Ice was about 7 inches where we were but others told me its scary in some spots. Caught all the 7 to 12 inch walleyes a man can handle and one about 15. 6 LITTLE northerns and that was our day. Dropped cam down and seen alot of nothing. Good thing is ice fishing season is on. GOOD LUCK ALL

Caught 6 little northern on monday..ice was 6-7inches.........be carefull there is bad spots and springs on this lake . |

Fished at Sweetbriar on Sunday, ice was around 5" and clear where we fished. The kids had a blast as we caught well over 25 walleye, pike and perch. None were big enough to keep, but kids had fun.

Went out this afternoon brought home 6. Ice was various from 3-5 inches and varied between fair and crappy. There was one spot straigh out from the east ramp that when I scrapped the snow away the water started coming thru the ice, I got away from there kinda quick.

Wondering if anybody knows what the Game & Fish is doing with Sweet Briar Dam? Went out there to check the statis of the lake and found that you can't drive on at the first entrence on the west side anymore, large rocks block it. Lake level is really low also, I know they were working on the dam.

has anyone fished out here lately?? I see when i drive by that the water level is going farther down every week.. just curious if anyone is fishing out here at all and how the fishing has been. I would think in a small dam like this the less water the more the fish are concentrated and should be easier to catch. Any info would be appriciated

Went out and checked around for a few bass. Water temp is still cool. But I didn't manage to catch one lil' dinky largemouth up in the creek. Can't wait for the water to warm up sooner. The bass will be biting soon. The bass bandits have a tournament there this year, gotta get practiced up!

Went out yesterday after a round of golf because I had to finish the day off doing my two favorite things. I just moved to Bismarck and love to bass fish so I thought I'd give Sweet Briar a try.
Well I only fished from shore, but I threw jigs with grubs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and texas rigged at the lake and didn't have a single bite. I tried all of these baits with different speeds and colors....no luck. I did notice one boat out on the lake on the South end but didn't have a chance to talk with them. Can't complain too much because it was so unbelievably nice out....and I was fishing not working :) The water is extremely murky. |

Went out to Sweetbriar this afternoon thinking we could maybe fish some open water up at the northwest corner but there wasn't much open water yet. A lot of water is running in but there is also a lot of ice flowing in and is jammed up. Ice looks pretty rotten and there is no way you could get on it anyways. Hopefully in another week or 10 days it will open up for some open water fishing.

anyone been out to sweet briar lately?? wondering if it is still possible to get on the ice or how the ice conditions were. I'm sure the edges are terrible but just trying to see if i could get out one more time this year. any info would be great! Thanks.
