Wemt put Monday and it was a terrible day for fishing, Me and the old man went early in the morning and didnt get off till 5 and we left with a tiny northern and a garbage fish. Dont think i will go there in a long time and its a waste of gas. Been thinking there has been a lot of winter kill cause went in december ice fishing and it wasnt to bad. A buddy and I went out Monday and slauaghtered fish. Caught a lot of 12" walleyes but limited out with 14"- 16" walleyes. Caught few Northerns and one nice 7 pounder along with a 9" perch. Also some garbage fish 2 bullheads and a sucker. Over all it was a great time. Used a jig and a minow and every once in a blue moon a half of crawler would do it too. Verticle produced the most but pitching had its time. (Tried cranks but it's a waste of time)

Just wondering if anyone has been out to Sweet Briar lately? Wondering how the ice conditions are? Sounds like it's suppose to be nice on Saturday and was thinking about heading out for a while in the morning. Has anyone been out or even driven by and seen people out? I'm guessing that the ice is still pretty thick but with the weather this week being so warm be might be walking out. Thanks

Went out to SB on Tuesday. Fished from 430 to 8. Only one other guy out on the ice. Didn't catch anything, not even a nibble. Ice is really think, water is murky. Got skunked once again. : (

Hey everyone, Just wondering if anyone has been up to Sweet Briar recently? Looking at going out on saturday (weather is suppose to be really nice) and would like to catch some fish. I'm not picky on the size, catching small ones and throwing them back may not be ideal but it's better than sitting there just wishing for a nibble. Perch, walleye, Pike, species doesn't matter. Is there a good fishing spot that you've had recently? I heard that there can be some good perch fishing on the north part of the lake but not really sure where. Anyone willing to give some location details. Thanks.

Just wondering if anyone has been having any decent luck lately? Been out a few times and really haven't caught anything but tiny northerns, a few tiny walleyes, and a couple tiny perch. Did pick up three keeper walleyes one day, but they weren't anything to brag home about.

Sweet Briar Dam - Sunday, January 23, 2011 | |
went to sweet briar fished the east side of the lake .access was awesome those guys are doing a very good job keeping access available to the lake.a few perch were caught nothing of any size. had a northern on but wasnt hooked good and shook the hook out looked like a nice one. 3 smaller walleye were caught didnt keep any just too small to keep and they were pushing the legal size and didnt have a tape that was in my other rod bag at home. but let them go to be safe.a guy near by lost his rod down the hole to probably a good sized northern.(which made me chuckle due to that has happened to me almost everytime i find a ice fishing rod i like!)the temperature was nice not too much wind where we were. fire tigers werent on fire this time but thestop sign lures were really making a good impression on me and my fishing buddies. if you havent tried them give them a try i bought all the colors and six out of the eight colors i bought worked great. we lifted the lure up about 12 inches and tipped the rod down and then flicked the rod tip quickly about three times and gave the action the fish were looking for. these lures need to be jigged real aggressive but i like them and when you lift up nd lower quickly they have a dying minnow bolting type action. the perch responded to the geenz worm with a minnow head but changed to the stop signs later in the day hoping to pickup some eyes.
