Stump Lake (Overview) - Monday, August 8, 2011

Report Details
Fished last night and did great for a perch bite, maybe caught 10 eyes and kept 4. The perch school was to big to get into the walleyes but i was just fine with that. The smalles perch was 10in, biggest was over 13in and average was close to 12in. All in all it was a great night!!

I always have five baits on hand, leeches, crawlers, wax worms, meal worms and minnows (the head of a minnow)  Always jig one rod at all times.

T-Lund, thanks for the great reports. i was wondering if i cab get some additional info on the perch. i see you fish in the 20 to 30 ft range. can you gice me an approximate area of the lake you fish in. i usually have good luck on the walleyes, but would like to have some more success on the perch. Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You

I fish all trees and as long as theres no brush below you the fish are there. One of my spots for perch is the sunken rd next to hwy 1 and the east shore north of stump lk ramp. (1st bay)  I had a great spot across from the landing on the west shore and a tree fell over and ruined my hole. Very hard to find a spot with no brush below!!  Sometimes you have to spend the whole time scouting for spots.
