We were on Stump last March and did decent on Walleyes straight off of the Tolna ramp on the humps out there. We were in around 20-25 ft of water. Lot of smaller ones until about a half hour before dark and then we got some decent eaters. We also did good on perch to the south of the Stump Lake Park landing around the point. We were there much later in the year, but I would think fish would still be in these spots.
Best baits for Walleyes were chartruese and white jigging rap and just a plain hook and a minnow for perch. Hope this helps ya out |

Smaller ones until about a half hour before dark and then a few nicer eaters. Also caught some nice perch from the Stump Lake Park landing to the south around the point in around 60ft of water. We were there later in the year, but I would think there would be fish in these areas now. Hope this helps.

Im thinking of going out this comming weekend, any reports on where sum fish are. Ive only done summer fishing on stump and wanna try ice fishing. Is the lake safe to drive on? What depths have the fish been at? Any favorite lures or possible locations on the lake?
Any info would be greatly appreciated |

Went out by campground ramp headed east about 400 yds edge of trees 35 FOW Got 25 perch between 2 of us from noon. Didnt release one! every perch was a jumbo, and I caught a 2 lber! One little walleye I released. It was warm and sunny

Fished the West side of Highway 1. Started on the east side of the trees on the south bend. Caught a 29" Pike. Onlly got 3 total bites. 1 took a pole and the other broke the line on the tip up. Moved to the middle of the bend towards the road inbetween the trees. Buddy caught a 16' Walleye, but no other bites. Didn't drive on the ice, but walked from the road.

Fished the East side of Hwy 1 on sunday morning, 1/2 dozen small small perch, ice 10 to 14 in, about a dozen trucks and wheel houses on the area I was at! CAUTION!!! There is a big hole about 100 yrds off the acess on the east side where the gravel comes in, was told a rig went thru but not sure, its flagged with oranage flags and its right outside the trees, Big hole you could drive a semi into it! Scary Shite!

Fished by the Pavilion/Campground boat ramp in the trees in about 20 ft of water on friday and didn't get a bite. Moved over by the old hwy 1 and caught 2 14-18" walleye in about 17fow. We left around 4 to get back for the Sioux game so we might have missed a good night bite, hard saying. Weather was gorgeous though. Ice was only 8-12" depending where you are at. |

anyone actually catching fish out there or everyone just getting little dinky perch and 8 inch walleyes i have been out there 4 times this year and havent even got anything over 16 inches that was a pike too. just wondering if the east side of #1 is even worth going back.

Ice conditions on stump are anywhere from 8 to 10 inches. There was some water on top of the ice the day after Christmas due to the warm temps and the nasty wind. It seems the area just east of the new Hwy 1 is the hot spot for everyone as there are lots of people fishing this area. Saw a full size Ram pickup driving across the ice here a couple days ago and was thinking they are nuts for doing that but it was only a dodge so no big loss. I myself have been fishing away from the crowd and setting up along trees. It has been hit and miss as some days have been good and others not so good. Just about anything works for catching walleyes and a few pike.

Anyone been out to Stump Lake? Just curious how the ice is and where the best ice access is. I plan on getting on where the Tolna boat ramp is and fishing north of there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
