I asked/told them to have the fish properly identified. I was thinking the same thing you were MSA. Something just doesn't look right about the head on this thing. Looks very similar to a sauger. (hence why we both are thinking Saugeye)

Holy jeez. That's a hoss.

Steph's fish was 8 1/2 lbs. I kept saying to them; "uuuum...............uuuuum........." (referencing the profile of the head and the coloration was a little different) I kept thinking Saugeye and I think it's funny you commented on it right away being a possible Saugeye.

I really hope so. It was just an un-educated guess of mine when we took it out of the net. I've caught quite a few out of Sakakawea, and a few smaller ones in the Red, but again, it has the features of a Walleye and a Saugeye. Time will tell I guess.

If the "ole lady" is happy we are happy!!   But really I couldn't be more happy/proud of her, she was a trooper yesterday and showed ME how to fish!!!

The more I look at Willy the more certain I get he is a saugeye!!  Fish of a lifetime!!
