Stackable Binocular system

Not sure who makes it, but there is supposedly a new system of binoculars out there in which to add magnification, you basically add lengths of lens.  Additional cylinders (4" long each)  screw onto the objective lens end--which are threaded.   The system allows up to a total of 8 additional magnification increases. All magnification cylinders are different. They are as as follows: 1.2x,1.8x,  2.0x, 2.6x, 3.0x 3.4x, 4x and 5x,  Different combinations of lenses can be screwed onto each other for variations in magnification.  They are all compatible, as they are threaeded the same.  There is a chart that comes in the case, to let the hunter know which combinations to use to get magnification they are looking for.  I think like a 1.2x and a 2.0x and  2.6x gives you something like 6.25x.  You can attach all 8, for a very powerful set of binoculars, and that's what's got me interested. And they are also supposed to be waterproof and very durable due to the threads have some sort of teflon fibers embedded in them. 

Has anyone seen or heard of this system yet?

So you can attach 8 - 4" cylinders.  32" added onto 8 " binos for 40" total length.

 Nothing new really, folks add and sometimes stack focal length adapters on camera lenses all the time, and have for a very long time.

Yes, but with this system, you can actually go up to 450x magnification if you use all of the cylinders. (if my math is correct)

Plus, there is also aftermarket cylinders that screw on, but project a laser dot on whatever it is you are looking at.   Nifty little addition if you ask me.  I'm not aware of any other binocs that can do that.  

 @ 450x if you're expecting any decent resolution for under $200K you're a dolt.

Anyone ever tried a doubler on their binos?

 By comparison, to get good resolution from a spotter @ 60x you'll spend $1500+, then figure you gotta collimate 2 cylinders and it adds $$ real fast.

 If'n there were a way to line up my 48x spotter behind my 45x spotter I'd have a Leicaziess 2160x spotter.

You are a dolt if you think that is possible.

To make it work you'd need a rear spotter with a close focus that's equal to the front spotter's eye relief.  Then you'd need someone that's mighty precise building the mount.

I cyphern'd that...

 I have used a Vortex doubler. on some 10x Els. It worked fine but I invested in a spoteer instead. They would be great in the pack for that little extra peak. I would not like them for out of the truck tho.

My thought is that this whole stacking idea is taking many ques from the photo world.  To that end, a 1200MM Canon lens will only set you back a mere $120K.  Of course on a full frame digital body that's only 24x.  Add a 2x focal length extender and a 1.6x crop body you'll get to almost 77x and only have added $1k-$2k to the overall package.  So regarding X's figure that you're only about 1/6th of the way there and haven't added a 2nd lens or the apparatus to collimate them yet.

Of course even if you had good enough glass and precise enough collimation and the weight/length didn't dissuade you, the fact that the FOV, close focus abilities, and the frickin' mirage would almost assuredly make a set of 450x binocs useless for looking at anything closer than the moon.

You'd have to buy 2 of them and have them collimated.  Of course they still wouldn't focus close enough, allow enough FOV to be at all useful, or cut through mirage, and of course even if properly collimated you'd have to individually focus each side which would suck balls at a minimum.
