Spray Foam Insulation Kits

i know this isn't a home improvement site.  but, we seem to have armchair experts on every topic from flesh eating beetles to biochemistry.  so, here goes...

anyone know anyone in the state... minot, fargo or GF (Bismarck is too far)... that carries these?  looking for one of the 600-605 board feet ones.  thanks.

I looked into these last spring and when I crunched the numbers it was still cheaper to have a insulation company come in and spray it vs. doing it myself.

hmmm... seems to be where i am at.  got an 8 X 12 ice house that we made the mistake of putting metal pole barn siding on w/o exterior plywood.  tis wrapped in plastic but the walls and roof, especially the roof, leak like a sieve.  a 600 foot kit would give me a little extra i think if i do all the walls, the roof and the floor.  for the most part they are available for about a buck a foot online.  which i could handle i suppose.  just don't want to wait a week to get it here.  bad planning.  would like to just go pick one up.

haven't called our local guy yet.  any idea what it costs per square foot to have a contractor do it?  half pound or 2 pound?  got an opinion?

when I had my ice house done, since I wasnt in a hurry I  had them do it right after they got done spraying a house, they did it right there at that house so they didnt have to mix anything, just keep spraying.  Saved quite a bit of money doing it that way.

I have the prices per s.f. depending on how many inches thich at work.  The price per board foot was not a lineal equation if I remember right.  I could give a call in the a.m. to my contact that I use for all my spray foaming and find out what it would cost.  How tall is it and how thich were you thinking (R-value was approx. 6 per inch)?

there are 2 different types of spray foam. open cell and closed cell. the closed cell is the hard dense foam. The open cell is like what is in the cans, soft and plyable. the open cell takes 1.5 x  the thickness to get the same r value as closed cell.  open cell isnt a 100% moisture barrier like closed cell . I just had a small A frame done in closed cell. open cell is about 1/2 the price per inch. I think the do it your self kits are open cell foam.

www.tigerfoam.com 200 board feet kit is about $335.00. Check it out, if it were me I would call the Insulation Place from Grafton and do what has been suggested by bringing it to a job they are doing and have them spray it. The company I work for has had these guys do alot of insulating, they do a really good job and are quick.
