Spoon Hand Auger Sharpening

It's an old Mora spoon shaped hand auger, anywhere around North Dakota (specifically Bismarck) that would sharpen it?

I found one in the attic of my garage, that the previous resident left there. It was ancient, maybe worth money I guess I don't know.  Do they actually work? Come to think of it, I may have just thrown it away... i will have to check.

I have no idea if they work either. I've read online some people still swear by them, but the one I have is too dull to do anything with.

I don't know how to sharpen them.  Most people who hate them have an old dull one.  I've used a couple that cut like lasers through the ice.  I'd personally take a super sharp spoon auger over a sharp std. auger any day of the week.  But, most I see anymore are junk.  If you find out how to sharpen it properly I think you will be impressed!

The old spoon augers are the best thing going for opening up old holes.

The tackle shops used to sell a little item that was designed to sharpen them.  Maybe a buddy might still have one in their fishing gear.
