Has anyone heard what the pheasant numbers are like? They have to be pretty good considering the light snow we had in 07 and 08. Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard any figures, but the pheasant population is huge. Everybody make sure your magazines in your shotguns are filled to the max come opening day, cause you'll have to shoot in self-defence.

A couple areas lost some birds to that wind storm. Some places had hail with those winds, but overall, lots of birdies! I bet it will beat last years pop.

I would have to say we have to credit these numbers to the GF&P's food plots and management programs.

I am going to thank the gf&p for the great pheasant numbers. You guys/gals do so much for our wild life, how can we ever thank you enough. I mean, you make it rain, you plant lots of crops, you have farmland in CRP, and you probably even made the water go down so the pheasants had a place to lay eggs. Now your bringing the water level back up so the pheasants can have some fresh water to drink. Thanks again!!!

Numbers aroung the Mobridge Area haven't seemed to be in trouble. We've had some snow and cold temperatures, but anybody that drives in the country will see birds...
