Lots of small walleye through out the whole river. I caught my limit in under an hour, and only had to use 3 worms! The fish did not want to let go of the hook either when taking it out, they must be super hungry. biggest was 18in, and smallest was 14in. |

The mouse river is hot from baker bridge through minot. I've been hitting the coffer dams with at least 5 eyes within an hour at every dam. plenty of pike too. Monster 1.5 to 2lb bullheads between the dam and the bridge at bakers. the walleyes are all different sizes 12" to 24". small 8th 16th or 32nd oz jigs & minnows or worms. Havn't tried cranks yet but I'm sure they'd work. been to baker bridge the south and the north dam, oak park, the zoo, treatment plant, the bypass, and cloverdale.

If ou dont have a boat or dont want to take it out and you live anywhere along or near the Mouse River. Now is the time to go out, anyplace there is moving water, culverts, flooded roads, ditches, etc, etc.I've been using a BB with a gold spinner and white mister twister.BB keeps me out of alot of snages and works good in the current. Some people are using a jig with a green mister twister.Tried floating jig with minnow last night with no luck.If fishing current you need to fish in the back current or of to the side of the main current,Some off the fish are right of to the side of the culverts in very shallow water!!You can expect alot of snags untill you figure out where not to cast.I will try a culvert for maybe 20-30 cast if no bites i go and try another spot. Some people will stay in one spot and wait them out..Bugs have not been to bad yet, because you are standing on pavement or gravel road.Alot off these spots are not even close to the river!!!

Went out on thursday to little deep east of newberg and fished for about 2 hours. using smelt and a perch colored crankbait we caught a 4 pounder and a 2 pounder. it was slow but they are moving into the little runoffs off the river. Also tried every bridge on the way back to westhope and every box culvert and no luck.
