I take my dog out for a run just about every day when i'am home-7days on 7 off.About a 1to2 mile run.Anyway she will take off running then just do a belly flop or nose dive into the snow. This is not just a one time thing, she will do it several times during her run.Doesent matter what the weather is.Is this OK??Or is there somthing wrong with her???Anybody else;s dogs do this???

No I don,t think any thing is wrong. I had a dog that loved to plan in the snow. She would do the same and more. She would dive into the snow so far you couldn't see her. I wouldn't worry.

My black lab cross just loves to roll in the snow and tries to push himself on his side or back on the snow.

I would say she is just playing. My dog loves to play in the snow.

I have a brittany that does the same thing, she loves snow til her paws pack up with ice. Then she is ready to get in. I'm not sure what the nose dive thing is, maybe just a facial snow wash, beats me.

If you keep the dog indoors, it may be trying to cool off. Probably feels good with all that winter fur.

My lab does something like that as well. freaks me out when he is cruising along on hard snow and all of a sudden breaks through and nose plants. Looks like his front legs are going to rip off. This winter sucks!! last year it seemed like I was out walking with him most of the time but this winter not so much. resorted to cracking a beer and following in the truck.. Is it legal to drink and drive? Another thing is I have not been going through as much dog food with all the corn out there he is staying full. Ha! Dumb thing eats the cob and all.

So are you AND the dog running or just the dog? Maybe you looked tired and she was trying to give you a reason to take a break ;-)

Eyecatcher, spodaj is right. Saw a program on that very thing. Corn cobs are one of the leading causes of intestinal blockage in dogs and if untreated by surgical means only, will cause death.

My lab does the same thing. Every once in awhile will just burry her head into the snow. I thought it had something to do with their noses getting cold.
