Smallest deer you've ever shot

I once shot a whitetail fawn out of spite with my bow.  Put one of the hind quarter hams in a ziplock bag, and one day my grandma took it out of the freezer thinking it was a pheasant breast.

Lets here other's stories about  innocent young deer whom have fallen victim to the itchy trigger finger.

I say to hell with that pot o' gold.

Got a button buck once. It was all alone, out about 200 yards standing a couple rows into a harvested corn field. Hard to judge size sometimes when they are alone. That was years ago before I was good at picking out the differences in bone structure between young and mature deer. Wouldnt happen now but hey, filled my tag and tasted fine.

Shot two fans during an early doe season and got a total of 17 lbs of meat off both combined.  I held both deer up by the necks, one in each hand and took a picture but I can't seem to find it right now.  My first deer ever was just slighly larger than these two, but still had the two rows of spots down its back.  Man I love Organic Veal!

I enjoy this!  hahahaha.  Find that picture. ;)

My girlfriend shot one early season a couple years ago that was her first deer and it was small, but some mighty mighty fine eating for sure.

A forky in 3A1.  Probably even more than once.  They are really some of the best eating.  Not quite as good as venison veal, but they make up for it with more meat.

I am guilty of this way more than once.

We had been seeing these 2 fawns every morning standing at the edge of the road that leads on to our land. We had all made the deal to leave them alone, well Last day shows up and I still have my tags. so I jump out pop one it drops, the other one runs about 30 yrds stops and starts walking abck. So I felt bad and shot it. both tiny tiny. good eating though.

The funniest one was. My step dad has a tower box stand in the middle of our woods and he had been only seeing one deer every dam day, and he would come into camp and complain about it all weekend. So he left Monday afternoon and I didn't have to leave until that night so I went out sat in his stand. My brother said once I hear ya shoot I'll come out and get ya. well 30 minutes into the sit here it comes hahaha. my phone starts ringing and its my brother saying why the hell haven't you shot it yet, chucked the phone down...BOOM!........ from about 15 steps away. Brother fires up the wheeler and comes out gut it. Pick it up by it ear and tossed it on the trailer. Step dad din't complain the rest of the year. he did wonder where the fawn went too though.

we didn't tell him till the lastnight of season

Following in my footsteps....my brother-in-law shot this little guy in the woods around our yard last fall, his first deer ever.  This is the same deer that followed the lawn mower around last fall.  Good Eats!

I shot a little spike just a few years ago on one of those bet you can't hit it deals!!  I won $5 and had to listen to my buddy's give me sh*t the rest of the season for wasting my tag.  I am too damn competitive!

the life expectancy of a rutting forky in 3A1 is rather short.

I bowkilled a fork horn muley for jerky once, only to have a 175-ish buck walk up behind me while I was gutting it.  And no, I did not shoot it too...although the thought honestly did cross my mind.

Here's a reenactment for you . . .

Looks a little spindly to me , , , he could use another year or two, then he'll be a monster. I know this because I only shoot monsters.

killing a buck is still better than killing a bunch of does every year like JIFFY does, and then braggs on here about how good of a shot it was and blah blah, lets see him make that shot when it counts, maybe he does i dont know for sure but, why kill a bunch of does? Maybe he should run them down instead of shoot them. Just a thought .  And then he wouldnt have to bragg about his 300 bouncing off or some bs!!
