I think we're due for one of these. Judging from the photo gallery I think there're way to many big pike taken this year especially with the liberal limits of five. How does everyone feel about a dropping the limit back down to three with a one over 36" rule?

Maybe not all but the five fish limit is fine.  They have gotten bad enough that we have started to try eating them somehow.  Smoked then canned in awesome.

Ya there is some lakes so infested with them you couldn't catch them all if you wanted to. Obviously if they raises the limit they must have data to back it I'm sure there populations will remain healthy. Besides most guys I know don't go out and try to slay the pile everyday, I know some guys do and I'm not bashing on them to each their own. Most are not out to catch a limit of pike tho.

You couldn't fish them out I don't think. Not with the amount of pike fishermen out there, or lack thereof.

You could raise the limit to TEN per person and not make a dent on the number of northern pike population is 90% of the lakes we have in the state.   What do you have for data to support a restriction other than some photos on a website???   We don't need any more restrictions than necessary!!

Yes, liberal limits of any size will have no effect. Perhaps hell fire missiles shot into the shallows during spring spawn will finally reduce numbers followed up with a hades bomb..  This will not only take out the pike but those pesky walleyes as well.  Then one will not have to cope with the  stress of a possible fish on your line.  HIgh energy fishing will then be transformed to a leasurely boating outing as God intended. One can then either" pickle" or" smoke" their brain and  life will be good.

Absolutely none whatsoever. Since when does making new laws involve any kind of logic or data?

for once everyone will applaud me for taking home big fish.  With the limits of 13 to 20+ lb pike I took home this summer and fall, I usually had over my limit of walleye and sauger after I cut 'em open.

I'm not saying I hate pike, I just don't believe we'll ever have a shortage. I can go to a dozen lakea within 20 miles of my house on any given day and catch a limit of pike.

I am all for a pike slot.  A slot you can shove them into so somebody else can deal with them.
