ok so i suppose someone out there will be offended by this but i dont really care!
I was fishing tonight at the tailrace off the rocks and what do i see when i get there? a gigantic pile of beer cans and pop  cans and seed bags and potatoe chips and all kinds of stuff lying in the rocks everwhere i went. I am disgusted by the pigs that do this kinda stuff it seems everywhere i go i see this.
what the hell is wrong with some people? have you no decency can you not take the time to pick up your dam beer cans, do you enjoy trashing our beautiful fishing places?
i tell you what i fish there a lot and next time im just gonna take a picture and a licence plate number and call a game warden and than well let him handle you!.
take the time to keep our outdoors beautiful or keep your slobby self at home where you belong!

I agree if we are going to have somewhere for our children to fish or hunt please pickup your garbage and dispose of it properly. If you can't do that then like said before stay at home.

I concur.

I joined the military not only to fight for my country but to fight for those that can't fight for themselves. Thats why I'm here.

I trust you bagged the crap and took it out with you.  Picking up after ourselves is only part of the responsibility we have as sportsmen and conservationists, the other part, unfortunately, is picking up after others.

Good concept however, if one is not hauling in a bunch of trash, one may not be equipped with a trash bag to haul trash out.  How about the nearest correctional facility let a few inmates out for a day to go beach walking and pick up trash.  They could recurit Jiffy to pick off the runners should they elect to run.  Our tax dollars at work, the "trash for inmates" program.

Well, you should see how much trash is along the gravel roads in the country when hunting season starts in the fall. It must be terribly difficult to put your pop cans in the back of the pickup untill you see a trash can.

yes this crap really ticks me off i will go early next time and bring a garbage bag next time and spend an hour walking around the rocks cleaning up. i just dont get why people are such slobs. i always take a soda and muchies down with me when i fish but it leaves with me in the same plastic bag it went down in!
if you see someone taking your picture from above you better clean up your mess or you may be getting an unwanted visitor!

I always try to leave an area looking better than when I arrived, but sometimes it can be quite overwhelming.  Saw a lot of disgusting areas when I used to shore fish on Devil's Lake.  Inexcusable if you ask me.

Without a doubt, coming out into nature is one of the neatest things there is to do, but you also have to be careful. That’s why I always try to pack the heat — try to pack a gun. Just a little bit — pack some heat. Now this isn’t too — this isn’t much of a big boy, I don’t want to kill the animal, but I do want to warn it, and say “hey, I think you’re pretty neat, but I respect your distance.” There’s bears out here, there’s mountain cougars, and biting goats.

lwittmayer, I agree 100%.  Devils Lake shores are riddled with beer cans.  Just pure laziness.  This spring was the worst i have seen.  It was a beer drinking pig party.

i agree that you need to take out what you brought in, plus the slob leftovers.  there is a problem that i think can be simply solved--a lot of public areas are very short on trash cans, and some folks don't want to but the garbage in their vehicle--fox island comes to mind.  simply get the local governing body to put dumpsters out and pick up the trash on their regular routes. this is not an excuse for the slobs, but meant to be a suggestion to the local, county, state, g & f, and others to provide plenty of trash cans/ dumpsters out for the public to use.

I am soooo tired of picking up trash at hunting and fishing places. Makes me want to track down the parents of whoever did it and beat the tar out of them .I don't care if they're six or sixty it always goes back to how you were raised. The saddest part is that they're mostly  native ND'ers.I get over it and go back to picking up trash so that I dont become one of those inmates.I meet out of staters all the time that can't believe how we treat our own state.

Great post i agree 100%. I shore fish quite a bit and it sucks when a person has to get accross private land and all you see is another no trespassing sign or a lock on the gate because people are going in there and leaving their marks on places.

I dont go around guessing cup sizes either I just know a nice rack when I see one.

I got a slob story.  I was at deadmans campsite last week and picked up a pickup load of garbage left by some idiots.  They threw there bags of garbage on a cold fire so the bag burnt and then the wind blew it all over the place.  There was beer cans and pieces of garden hose and clothes half burnt blown around as well.  The funny part was they left there 2009 license plate in the envelope laying there too.  What should i do with it?
you gonna set steel or whistle dixie
