looking for some feed back and wondering if the Springfield matches up to the Sig? what are the groupings for the Springfield @40yds.

Horsager or NXS - any thoughts +/-??

I have no experience with the Sig X5 and very limited experience with Sigs in general. Too little in fact to say anything but that I like the XD's trigger better than the Sig's tigger. (can't remember the model of the Sig, it was Horsager's so I'm sure he'll point it out)

All of the XD's I've shot impressed the heck out of me. Fuctioned extremely well, felt good in the hand, trigger was good, shot where it was pointed....ect. As far as group size at 40 yards I don't know. I haven't shot either past 25. I do like the XD, in fact a subcompact in 9mm is on the list. Towards the top I may add.

I've never fired either of them.

This moment is a paradox, it's the oldest you've ever been as well as the youngest you'll ever be.

NXS - thanks for the input - I have a Sig P226 9mm and it shoots where it is pointed as well. Much better fit than the Glock19 10mm and not nearly as accurate as the Sig.

I really like the feel of both, like the de-cocking feature on the Sig.

For the price which is not the issue but if nearly the same in shooting why pay the extra?

Anyone else? Horsager - anyone you knowshot or had experience with either?

Greyhound, can you be more specific, feel, shooting groups, cleaning, big magazines, and so on?

Thanks for your time!

I've owned a XD40 service model for about 1.5 years now and really like it. I haven't had any problems with it after about 1000 rounds through it, not even a single jam. I can shoot about 2" groups at 25 yds with cheap factory ammo. When I bought it I tried quite a few and this one just felt the best in my hand. Fits larger hands really well. It disassembles pretty easily for cleaning. Mine came with 2 12 shot mags so haven't looked at what others you can buy. I like it so well its my daily ccw.

My XD is a 40 cal 4.25 inch barrel. Never had any trouble. Have had it since they came out. I haven't shot a 1000 rounds, but probably getting close. I enjoy this gun more than I thought I would.

It just shoots where you point. It breaks down into 4 parts for cleaning (Base, Slide, Spring, and Barrel)

Also like the indicator on the top of the gun that tells you if a round is chambered. You can feel it in the dark. It has a pin that sticks out when it had been cocked too.

2 Safetys (the one on the back of the grip and a glock style trigger)

Id personally go for the springfield xd, i own an officers model .45 and it fits my hand perfect with Hi-cap 13's in it. i have really short fingers so things such as the glock 21 give me a bit of a problem because i cant get my fingers quite around it. I own both a 21 and an xd and i like the fit and feel of the xd, i imagine one in a .40 would be even more comfortable. Keep in mind my xd is the older first gen. so go and see what the new XDm feels like, you can actually talor the backstrap to your hand on it. the older ones do the job very nicely though :-)

By the way are you gonna use it for concealed carry or just a general range/ccw

Just bought a XD in .40 S&W.

I love the feel of this gun. Feels very similar to my 1911.

Only a few rnds through it so far but I'm very happy with it. I don't like the XD gear holster it came with though. finish on the slide already shows some wear from it.
