The female smallmouths have moved shallow and are carrying eggs now and are biting on jigs and twisters. The pike have also moved shallow and have been tearing my swimbaits apart but only hitting the tail ends for some reason. Good Luck

Fished this week close to Fargo. Caught decent fish with a 93 cm pike. New record of course. I released everything I caught even 4 walleyes. I caught everything using plastic bait.
I'm sad to see that all american fishermen I met in this river keep everything or close to everything they catch even small fish.

I would like to use this message to thanks Guywhofishes and Kdm for all our conversation and all the help you gave me, thank you guys I REALLY APPRECIATE.

The smallmouth bass are starting to move into the shallows. I caught 2 of them tonight on a chartreuse 1/8 ounce jig and twister tail. They both hit just a few feet from shore.

Fished Sunday afternoon, the cats are really active. The rods were getting hit every 10 - 15 minutes. I was trying to catch bait with a worm on one rod and smaller cats kept taking that. Frogs and cut goldeneyes where producing about the same. They ranged from 2 to 7 #s on the larger bait.

So far I am not having alot of luck this spring. I have been using lindys and crawlers lately but only been getting bullheads. Was pitching jigs/twisters at one of the dams last weekend and got nothing. And tonight I caught just one small northern on a white 1/4 ounce jig and white twister. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it as I can only shore fish.

Most any area that has rocks or rip rap will hold smallmouth this time of year.  Pick just about any bridge over a river and chances are, there is at least one smallie in the rocks under it.  Good Luck!!

Went to Cooperstown Dam last night, had the place to ourselves.  Kept a few walleyes in the 14~19inch range, all spawned out.  White Bass were everywhere getting ready for the spawn.

Has anyone been down to Fort Ransom yet to fish for some channel cats? Went down there last summer a few times and once caught 7 cats in 1 hour. Thanks
