Not sure if anyone else has brought this up. It's about darn time. If we get on the ball in ND we could probably get a very substantial showing at the capital in Bismarck. Heck, if we can get the right people to ask I think we could get Hoeven to show up.

Rather than holding it in March they ought to hold it on June 26th, the anniversary of DC v Heller.

Probably is not so much a protest, but just a show of numbers indicating to the politicians that there are a LOT of voting gun owners out there who feel strongly about their right of gun ownership!
The two ways I could see something like this backfire would be
1) If nobody or very few gun owners showed up we'd give them the opposite impression and look like fools!
2) If a bunch of redneck in-your-face type gun toters showed up and created some kind of black eye on the rest of us.  Maybe I've been reading too many 'conspiracy' type books, but such a disturbance could be created either by well meaning idiots on our gun ownership side, OR a clandestine plot hatched by antigunners to make us responsible gun owners look like a bunch of law defying neo nazi idiots who shouldn't be allowed within ten miles of a gun store!  A few random shots out of nowhere while some biker type was railing into a microphone about "my cold dead hands' or "taking back the country from the communists" or similar nonsense, with a few well meaning but hair trigger gun carrying types in the crowd.!    For these reasons I think it would have to be a non gun carrying thing, even though most of us maybe responsible and have CWP's.   A lot of sympathizers would be leery of joining a crowd who were all full of adrenaline and carrying guns.   Lots may disagree, but who knows??
