Hey guys got a Savage Axis 223 for x mas for yote's since Im new to coyote hunting around here it'll most likely be a lot of trial error error error and maybe success lol. I wanted to know if anyone has experience with the gun, I noticed the trigger pull is a little heavy,... Also what do you guys think of the piece? Thanks

haha ok I'm not really looking for an opinion, I know a large amount about guns. I just have never personally shot this gun and want to see if anyone has one. I know savage have been around for quite sometime and have a all around good rep.

I got one in a 22-250, it is a great gun for price, mine shoots great groups and functions just fine. I bought it just to keep in my work pickup( just a gun i dont care if it gets beat to hell and dirty) at all times. I have put 100 or so rounds threw it with no issues. Got a couple cousins who bought them in 25-06 and are very happy with moa.

I bought a Savage Edge in 30.06 last year for elk hunting.  It's the same thing as the Axis.  Trigger pull is a little heavy at 6 pounds, but it still shoots nice groups with a steady rest.  Haven't killed anything with it yet, though.

I just purchased the exact gun you are speaking of. I zeroed it yesterday without any problems shooting 1" groups at 150yds.. zeroed it at an inch high and now ready to do some pounding... will have to see about adjusting the trigger pull though it is a little heavy.. I am ready to kill something with it:)

A replacement Timney trigger will fix your trigger pull and be adjustable to your preference - http://www.timneytriggers.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=85

That trigger is 1/3 the price of the gun!
