posted by: lwittmayer. Definitely hitting the water this weekend. Heading for White Earth Bay after work with my lady and 2 nephews. Looks like low 80's with 5-10mph winds tomorrow in our neck of the woods. Should be a good time.

It’s that time again….Who’s going fishing this weekend ???

I am off for a week at the lake should be some good mid summer fishing. It seems the walleye bite is on the weedlines in the early morning and gradually moves deeper as the day goes on. Wind direction is key this time of year.

Smallmouth should start getting more active with the thick weedlines and abundance of top water food any buzz bait or floating crank should be effective.

Jumbo Perch have been hitting crank baits, it’s not a bad idea to stop and jig after you pick up one, we ended up with six nice ones between 9 ½ and 11 inches.

Weather outlook looks good for the weekend with Saturday being gorgeous and our friend the “wind” kicking up a bit on Sunday. Next week appears to be normal summer weather with highs in the lower 80’s and a chance of scattered thunderstorms just about everyday.

I haven’t checked the wind outlook for the week but that usually isn’t that accurate until a day or two out.

Thursday is my Friday......but then is Friday my Saturday and if so what does that make Sunday ?!? Monday? Does that mean I would have to go back to work.....my brain hurts now I think I will have to leave work early...the only thing to relieve this pain is a fishing pole in the water

posted by: Tim Sandstrom. The weather is staying more consistent this weekend. Last weekend the forecast changed on Thursday for the worse. Today it is holding steady. Looks like light winds and mid temps.

Water on Sakakawea is up a half a foot since 1 am July 1st. Crazy.

This thread was started the beginning of June and looking back at the weather outlook for that weekend….it is very similar to this weekend. Mid-70’s not too much wind…tough to beat last weekend’s hurricane. I saw some pix of a boat capsized on DL last weekend must have had 6-foot plus swells.

Not only is this weekend shaping up to be an ideal fishing weekend but we also have one of our greatest celebrations “Independence Day”. A wonderful time for family, friends and fishing…don’t forget the fireworks….

So be safe and …………………….FISH ON !

posted by: beedoggs1. fished the hook again today, started near the mob, eyes were so pressured they turned off for the most part, just the little ones hitting. Left the mob and searched out the eyes and found them a bit deeper in other areas, and proceeded to hit our limit in less than an hour. Doubles and triples every few minutes. Sucks that I have to go to work tomorrow morning.

Last night it was a much worse picture with gusts going almost all day long. I'm sure it will still be windy but this gives me hope.

Judging by your link we get from the same site obviously. Still, last night I was getting wind coming up much sooner and lasting much longer. It will be windy, no if and or buts about it.

this link shows wind for Parshall at over 20mph by 9am and over 30mph from
1pm to 6pm, over 20mph until after 830pm
