No, I have never had a gamakatsu hook do that. If you have the package I would see if you may be able to get your money back, send them in.

There is an article and video in the Billings Gazette website on the Mustad Slow Death hooks from the July 17, 2009 issue. That might be of interest to all you walleye fisherman.

I use Gama's. Never had one break bent a few but easy to bend back. Haven't ever had one go dull either. Don't see a reason to look or anything else till these let me down.

I seem to have better hook ups with the #2s than #4s on live bait rigs. Anyone else notice a difference?
