The my Horton Steel Flex crossbow shoots 18 inch bolts and buying them from Horton costs an arm and a leg. As mentioned above, I contacted a party on Ebay who makes custom bolts and he set me up with some carbon shaft bolts that shoot like a dream. I have taken four animals with them. The guy told me that I could send the four bolts back to him and he would re fletch them for free as long as I paid the shipping. If your interested in the name of the guy let me know and I will see if I can find it in my purchase history on Ebay

re: They quit making my crossbow bolts

posted by: Lycanthrope. www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php
Most cross bows are 120 lb draw. You will have to check shaft thickness and also impact resistance of the original arrows It would be the same as someone firing a 50 gr bullet at 2800 fps and firing the same bullet at 3700 fps the impact is totally different. Your bow should be able to be converted to take the 20 inch arrows.

The only difference between the 16 vs. the 20 is downrange penatration, probably starting at about 35 yds.At least that is when I see the difference in the different weights shooting the PSE Nova at 70 lbs.
