Now if the price of ammo is higher , I am not surprised, like I said in my last post, what hasnt gone up cosiderably in the last few years? Four dollar a gallon gasoline had a lot to do with it, but now gas is less than two dollars a gallon, but like people said, once they raise prices, they will not come back down. Whos gouging now?

As far as sides go, I believe in gun ownership rights just as you do. Do we have a right for cheap bullets, probably not. any more than we have a right for cheap gasoline or cheap groceries.

Do we have a right to complain about things? Yes I guess we do.

case in point, the NRA treated McCain like the preverbial red-headed step child until he became the only candidate with an (R) that was running for president. Suddenly I was getting letters from the NRA reminding me about how much he's done for this country and so on and so on. I remember them specifically going after McCain on numerous occassions. He really peed in their Cheerios with that McCain-Feingold campaign contribution reform.

Another example for you is when HB 1348 was first introduced in ND a couple months ago (the bill would significantly expand the rights of CC permit holders) Joel Heitkamp spent an entire show talking about how it was a great idea. He really tried to poke holes in it and come up with any good reason why we shouldn't allow CC on campus or in churches and he couldn't. However, a few weeks later when talking about changing the legal hunting age in ND he adamently opposed removing the age restriction because, "I really do think that it's the government's job to tell you how to raise your kids. It takes a village." That's why I don't go sending thank-you letters to Dem's that occassionally side with us but kick us in the @$$ every other day of the week. Heitkamp isn't even a guy I have any particular ire for. Just an example of why I don't give them any encouragement on the rare occassion that they actually do what they're supposed to be doing.

There you have it. The policy change was simply the result of some n00b administrator attempting to close a perceived "national security" loophole and brass got caught up in the snare. There was no political motivation behind the policy change, but it is good that people like us were suspicious, got involved, and helped bring about a resolution.

Rust I don't see how you'd claim folks are paranoid, there's so many anti-gun proposals, bills, executive orders (See nat'l park concealed carry) since Jan that serve as fair warning.
