I think Hwy 85 is sort of a barrier they don't like/want to cross much. But i have talked to guys who've seen them crossing the hwy just south of the bridge. I'm positive in my lifetime they'll be in every drainage.

posted by: Tim Sandstrom. My hunting area in 4B last year produced very little, actually zero quality bucks from folks I know. They put in some time to. Up to my deer, we actually haven't shot anything over 170 inches and that includes my brother, dad, myself and other relatives. That's why I say if you see a 170 inch mule deer you are doing pretty darn good. I'd say a 160, especially a high 160 is still a quality buck in North Dakota.

I would add a pic of the other cow but it would give a little too much terrain away. I snuck with in 80 yards of her and took a few pictures. She was barking like mad, trying to find her lost calf. She would have been easy for Shorthairs to get to the road

I don't know how much genetics matters though...the largest muley shed I've ever seen was founf in 3D1...to the best of my knowledge anyway, and I've never laid eyes on anything like it before or since.
