I didn't catch a paddlefish this year. No one in our group did. I caught one every year for 8 years (almost always within the first hour of fishing), and now 2 years in a row without catching one. My son didn't get get one either - his second year is a row also. I felt really bad for him. There isn't ANYONE who worked harder at getting a fish then he did. He casted for hours on end without taking a rest. It was so amazing to watch him keep going with such determination. He was fine with not catching one, but I was kind of heart-broken over it. With the amount of effort he put into it, he definitely deserved one.

Definitely my last year camping at Trenton lake. The native family reunion was just the last straw. They insisted on setting thier campers up within a few feet of my tent even though I was there first and they had the rest of the campground where they could have set up. I had to barricade my tent with picknick tables so they would quit tripping over my tent ropes which only extended about 3 feet from my tent. They partied every night until 3:00am with a sound system that would have made Van Halen proud. Then they had the balls to chew me out for being in thier way.

There have been topics on FBO about great customer service - and I found the best example ever of great local customer service. I stopped in at the Scout's Outpost store and checked out thier prices on paddlefishing gear. I found that I could save a few bucks buying my stuff there. I then remembered the one year over the counter warranty that Scenic Sports offers on thier paddlefishing gear. Did that justify paying the extra price? I was debating that question when I broke one of the guides off my paddlefishing rod. I went to Scenic Sports - thinking that they may have some of the guides on hand. The rod was 6 years old, so I never expected it to be replaced for free. I went into Scenic Sports and spoke to Andy. He didn't have a guide on hand for me but he cut one off of a broken rod tip that had been brought into the store under warranty. He gave it to me free of charge. He refused to take anything for it. I was fully expecting to pay $6 or $7 bucks for it at least. If I would have had to mail order one, it would have cost me that much plus postage. Andy just gave me the guide and thanked me for my business over the years. Was that right there worth paying a couple bucks extra for - You darn right it was. I will gladly spend a little more for service like that. Thanks Andy, and thanks Scenic Sports.

re: I witness paddlefish report

posted by: kpurchin_up. thank u 4yaks!

re: I witness paddlefish report

posted by: 4yaks. The equipment hasn't changed thats for sure. The Missouri river from hwy 85 bridge west to some river mile marker I cant remember. Then from some other river mile marker I cant remember to the confluence of the Yellowstone is open again. Check out North Star Caviars web page they usually have great stats on the run for the year.
re: I witness paddlefish report

posted by: kpurchin_up.
