Heading into the Flat tops wilderness area next week.Should be fine camping ,I'll stay below 10,000 ft.to avoid heavy snow and catch wild trout til my arm falls off.Nothing like camping the rockies early season,lots of privacy, icy mornings and then that high altitude sun just bakes you by 10 a.m.,late afternoon nap inducing shower and then dinner followed my more fishing.

posted by: Tim Sandstrom. One thing about it, there is no better sleeping in a tent when it gets cool at night. When it is hot and sticky it is miserable. Wall tents are still fairly comfortable but a person isn't going to take a wall tent on a weekend style camp trip.

posted by: tonka2. Heading for New Johns Thursday for the first trip of the year. Can't wait for that first campfire. Propane tank is full just in case I have to fire up the furnace. Been up there before on Memorial Day weekend when it has snowed. Just wish this crazy wind would go away.

posted by: Ice _Fishing_Pro. Was campin out at stump lake this last weekend in a tent, few friends had their pop-ups. Friday night got down to 28, but champions like myself brave the weather. wasn't to bad, just bundled up.

Well we are heading to Nelson lake next weekend, so i am sure it will be cold. Can't complain usually its 100 degrees! I am geussing extra blankets will be needed this year. Hopefully the coon stays away that was in my tent 2 years ago. Wow, was that something else. Anyway I am hoping the power plant is running to get some of the warm air blowing our way.

posted by: espringers. just went on a weekend long canoe trip on the sheyenne river. tis a yearly trip for a group of us this time of year. and it did get pretty nippy at night. my buddy says his thermometer read 27 early saturday morning. could have been much worse tho. last year we woke up to about 3 inches of snow on our tents saturday morning. that year, we had rain when we left friday. snow saturday morning and got suburned on sunday. good ole nodak. u never know what mother nature is gonna throw at you.

posted by: Tim Sandstrom. Nope. Use to do the paddlefish camping trip but have skipped the last two years. It definitely has been a cool spring. Temps this week for lows aren't expected to crack much of 40 for the whole week.

posted by: Farnorth. Saw people tenting at Six Mile Bay last weekend and it was colder than 38 degrees. I think it got to 28 or 29 Friday night. Some water hoses got a bit froze.
