I had butterfly wing with a fine mesh material that l hated.  the mesh material was ok for small rocks but found holes in the material from assuming larger rocks thus creating weak points and causing the material to rip and fly off going down the roads.  I went to a hitch mounted brush and have been very happy with it.  I have been considering going to the butteryfly again also with the hitch mounted brush.  room for improvement on both.  not to mention the wings made it a little more difficult to load a boat by youself always getting wet walking around the wings.

Towtector works great as long as your exhaust doesnt point at it.  Put mine on my cousins new chevy, pulled the boat to the lake, and was so happy to find my new towtector had melted.

If you are in western ND you need a complete cover for your boat, semi's and other traffic throw plenty of rocks that you can't stop.  But I use towtector and it seems to work well.  I've also heard good things about the montana rock knockers.

If you look up Bow Buddy it looks similar, but covers your trailer too.  Looks easy to pop on and off as well.

The Bow buddy is best and easy to use and Towtector make sure it fits vehicle yes exhaust will melt it. We ran both when tournament fished and sold boat each year for diesel trucks the exhuast side is notched so exhaust will not burn it. Both fine products. I have seen many types in all years and rest are hokee pokee.

Did you buy the optional heat deflector that is sold to prevent this from happening? Big warning on the instruction page. My Ford exhaust turns out and has no melted anything.
