They better be more prepared on this one. Hope we don't have oil gushing into the gulf again. Pretty bad timing for another one.

This is in much shallower water.  That should be considered a positive.

The Company isn't really getting off to a positive start in their media relations though.  First they said nobody was injured but there was one injury.  They also said that there was no evidence of any leakage.  Apparently, that was not correct either.

My sugggestion would be that they don't say anything more until they have the facts and don't "sugar coat" anything.

Farnorth,  As far as media relations ,  I don't think it would matter what you told the media , The stories  change before they hit the news.         Most reporters don't have a clue about the oil/gas industry,  This reporter said the well was  making 1,400 Bbl oil per day  and 1,800 Bbl of Natural gas per day.???     Natural Gas is not even measured by the Bbl  but in Cubic Feet, Another classic example of the media telling it the way it isn't.

This all seems a little too convienient for the Obama admin. Must be part of his master plan to ban drilling. More "cap and trade" propaganda..
